Chapter 1512: New Death Plan
The combined fleet entered the port under cover of darkness.
This is to prevent people from seeing the tragic condition of the battleship.
In order to prevent the news from leaking out, the port area was even completely blocked and no one was allowed to enter or leave at will.
The newspapers published the news: "The Combined Fleet completed its tactical objectives and moved forward successfully."
There isn't even a picture.
Of course, this was all to fool the civilians, and the base camp still received the real situation.
The fleet loss report was sent to Zhang Tuohai.
Zhang Tuohai took a look and found that one third of the main battleships, such as aircraft carriers and battleships, were completely sunk, and the remaining half were seriously damaged and would require several months of overhaul before they could be launched again.
Only one-third of them can remain combat-ready after simple repairs.
As for the ordinary auxiliary ships, they suffered heavy losses. Half of the ships sank, and most of the remaining ships were seriously damaged, with only a small number surviving.
The small submarines were completely destroyed because of their shallow draft and thin hull, and not a single one survived.
Even the carrier-based aircraft pilots suffered heavy losses and needed a large number of replenishments.
This was a disastrous defeat for the Combined Fleet.
But compared to the three million eastward troops who were thrown on the mainland, their fate was still good.
After seeing the dense bomber formations of the US military, if even the Combined Fleet was in such a state, one can imagine the fate of those infantrymen.
These people no longer exist in the military roster.
After seeing this battle report, Zhang Tuohai tried hard to control himself and not laugh out loud.
"It's only three million, a little too little. We need to work harder."
Zhang Tuohai was thinking about how to kill more Japanese.
"Your Majesty, the Americans are very difficult to deal with. I'm afraid we need to reconsider how to end this." Army Minister Tojo said after hesitating for a moment.
"Baka!" Zhang Tuohai slammed the table and pointed at Tojo's nose and cursed, "You've just suffered a setback and you're backing down. Are you still worthy of being a Japanese samurai?"
"Now that you have been dismissed, go dig sand on Iwo Jima."
Zhang Tuohai ordered loudly.
Following his order, two guards came in and dragged Army Minister Tojo out.
Seeing Tojo's look, the others immediately lowered their heads even lower, like ostriches.
"How many troops are available in the Empire now?"
Zhang Tuohai asked.
"Your Majesty, we have withdrawn two million troops from India. We originally had one million troops on the Southeast Peninsula, five hundred thousand on Luzon Island, and two hundred thousand on the Korean Peninsula. The Australian continent has been progressing more smoothly, but it is a larger area, with three million troops."
“There are still so many.”
Zhang Tuohai raised his eyebrows.
"Recruit another 10 million soldiers. Send 5 million of them to Australia to clean up the area. Send another 5 million to Southeast Asia, and then bring back the 3 million elite troops in Southeast Asia and send them to the United States."
Zhang Tuohai said lightly.
"Your Majesty, the Americans' defenses are very strong. I'm afraid we can't get in. Besides, the navy's transport capacity is limited."
The Navy Minister hesitated and said.
"I know that the U.S. beachhead defenses are strong, but are you all so stubborn? You only plan to land from the U.S. coastline? Can't you change direction?"
Zhang Tuohai slammed the table.
"Change direction?" Everyone looked confused.
"The U.S. mainland is heavily defended. You can land in Canada in the north or in Mexico in the south. After landing, cross the border and enter the U.S. mainland."
Zhang Tuohai drew circles on the map and talked nonsense.
"But the navy cannot guarantee the supply of materials for so many soldiers."
The Navy Minister said hesitantly.
"Who wants your supplies?"
Zhang Tuohai glanced at the Minister of the Navy and said, "The United States is rich in supplies. Do the imperial soldiers need to carry supplies when they enter the United States? They can just rob whatever they need. There are guns and food there, as well as money and beauties. What else do they need to bring?"
"Each person carries a maximum of one week's worth of rations."
Zhang Tuohai said in a cold voice.
"However, a large army of more than three million will inevitably be hit by the US aircraft fleet..." The Navy Minister was still hesitant.
"Are you guys pig-brains? Do you think more than three million people must leave together?"
"You won't separate?"
"Tell the landing personnel to go their separate ways as a team and not to gather together . If necessary, they can act individually as a team."
"They can do anything in the United States, hijack trains, blow up railways, rob banks, burn factories, whatever they want. The main purpose is to make the United States chaotic and prevent it from producing weapons to attack us, so as to buy time for the large-scale counterattack."
"I understand." The Navy Minister did not dare to say more.
He was afraid that if he spoke again, he would be sent to Iwo Jima like the Minister of War.
"Your Majesty, where should we recruit these ten million soldiers from?"
The Minister of Finance asked.
"All students will be selected to be officers. Workers, farmers, monks, all will be included in the conscription. The conscription age will be relaxed to 14 to 65 years old. As long as they can carry a gun, they will all go to war."
Zhang Tuohai said.
"By the way, let women fill the vacant positions. Now is the time for them to dedicate themselves to the empire."
Under Zhang Tuohai's order, two-fifths of the men were pulled to the battlefield.
Excluding the elderly, the weak and the disabled, these are almost all the young and strong people in the country.
Zhang Tuohai had almost sucked all their blood dry. If all these people died on the battlefield, the country would be at risk of extinction.
Everyone knew the risks involved, but no one dared to disobey Zhang Tuohai's orders and could only do as they were told.
A large number of people were conscripted, experienced veterans were sent to the battlefields in America, and new recruits were sent to the jungles of Southeast Asia or the deserts of Australia after a little training.
In the darkness of night, warships set sail again. The decks of the warships were crowded with Japanese soldiers wearing khaki cloth. Each of them carried a rifle, 120 rounds of bullets, two grenades, a bag of rice balls, and nothing else.
This is still a relatively good treatment. I heard that those who were not treated well were only given a bayonet.
Everyone was packed on the deck like sardines, like they were in a can.
Some people who were seasick even vomited.
However, there were so many people that I couldn't move at all.
Everyone had only one wish, which was to get off the boat as soon as possible.
Even if the enemy is the American army, it is better than suffering on the ship.
After more than a day of bumpy ride, the ship docked on an uninhabited deserted beach under the cover of night.
Everyone climbed down the boat using the rope ladder and waded onto land.
"Remember, you are now in Mexico. Just go north or northeast and you will enter the United States."
"Don't go to the northwest, because you will run into the main force of the United States there."
The messenger kept shouting, trying to tell the news to everyone possible.
