Chapter 157 A Gentle Kiss
Chapter 158 A Gentle Kiss
In a quiet corner of the airport hall, Wen Ning and Fang Qing sat side by side on chairs, looking at the runway outside the glass window for a long time without saying a word.
Although they had said goodbye to each other before, it was only at this moment that Fang Qing realized the panic and reluctance in her heart.
She felt her voice was a little hoarse, but she still felt like she wanted to say something.
"You...you must eat well when you are abroad. Even if the food is not delicious, you must eat more."
"Yeah."
Wen Ning lost his usual humor. He held his lover's hand tightly and nodded quietly.
"Remember to put on more clothes when it's cold, don't catch a cold. I stuffed two boxes of medicine in your suitcase, don't forget them."
"Also, I've written down your email account and password in a notebook for you, so remember to check your email often..."
"I heard... girls abroad are very beautiful, you... stay away from them... don't talk to them..."
"You must... come back early..."
By the end, her words were already filled with tears. Fang Qing couldn't say any more. She turned her face to the side, not wanting to let the warmth in her eyes overflow, not wanting Wen Ning to think she was so useless.
With a sigh, she fell into that warm and fragrant embrace. Warm fingers brushed her cheek, gently wiping away the broken beads. Wen Ning's pleasant voice was filled with endless tenderness and pity, "Okay, I remember, I will definitely come back early."
Fang Qing had planned to see him off happily, but she didn't know what happened today, and she couldn't control her emotions.
"I'll be back in a month or two, at most. It's not a life-or-death separation. Stop crying, you're practically turning into a panda..."
But the more he tried to comfort her, the sadder Fang Qing became. Tears as big as beans fell, and she couldn't stop them. Seeing her like this, Wen Ning grew increasingly worried.
They had been together almost every day for the past few years, and he knew everything about Fang Qing. He understood even more clearly that she was a simple, fragile girl, seemingly strong, yet deeply innocent. This made him cherish their relationship even more, and he did his utmost to protect her.
But they had never been apart for this long, and he didn't know if she would be able to adapt to life alone after he left...
Wen Ning, despite his usual calm demeanor, was terrified of her tears and didn't know how to soothe her anxiety.
Suddenly, remembering the love secrets his roommate had shared, Wen Ning's eyes darkened.
Seeing no one else around, he made up his mind, lifted Fang Qing's chin, and pressed his lips against the softness he had longed for.
The gentle touch froze Fang Qing in her tracks. She stared wide-eyed at Wen Ning's gradually reddening ears, completely unaware of what was happening. It wasn't until a bite on her lip that she came to her senses.
"Hmm..." She instinctively tried to push away, but the hold tightened.
Wen Ning, displeased with her absent-mindedness, covered her eyes with his large hands. In that moment, Fang Qing's senses were focused on the tangled breaths, gradually forgetting her sorrow...
The tears finally stopped, and they both sat upright, their flushed faces and tightly clasped hands adding a touch of romance to the atmosphere.
Wen Ning suppressed his inner restlessness and reluctance, coughed, and gazed at the distant blue sky to calm himself. The
secret to love really worked, but he hadn't expected so many side effects.
The announcement of boarding came over the PA system, and the two quickly rose as if rescued, remaining silent until they reached the security gate.
Before entering, Wen Ning suddenly turned, hugged his silly girl tightly, gently kissed her soft hair, and made a promise, "Wait for me, I'll be back after the competition."
Fang Qing blushed as she watched Wen Ning's plane depart. Only after it was out of sight did she slowly make her way back home.
The house was empty, and so was her heart.
She couldn't describe the feeling, as if her life had lost its purpose. Nothing she did had the energy to do. She watched the second hand on the wall tick by, calculating where he must be and what he was doing.
Fang Qing didn't even dare calculate the date of his return, because the long days on the calendar made her feel like they were stretching out.
Fortunately, the day to return to school soon arrived, and she was busy with her graduation project, finally able to temporarily forget her longing.
"Qingqing, it's Friday. I heard there's a new movie coming out at the theater. We've booked some tickets. Should we go together?" Zhang Jiaqi pulled a chair over to sit next to her, tilting her head to discuss.
After a day of editing data, Fang Qing's mind was a mess. She didn't want to do anything but take a shower and go to bed. "I'm a little tired. You guys go ahead. I'll just sleep in the dorm."
Wang Nan was drawing her eyebrows in front of the mirror. When she heard Fang Qing's words, she was immediately furious. She closed the cabinet door and leaned over. "Hey, Miss Fang, can you be a little more ambitious? I'm just going out for a competition. I'll be back in ten days or half a month at most. Why are you so desperate..."
Zhang Jiaqi kicked her and glared at her to shut up. Only then did Wang Nan swallow the complaint that was about to come out.
Wang Yanli put down the magazine in her hand, walked over and started to pack Fang Qing's small backpack.
"We know you're upset, but life is short. Even if we're unhappy, we have to find ways to cheer ourselves up. Fang Qing, we booked the tickets just to please you, so at least give us some face. Look at our Sister Nan, she didn't even bother putting on makeup when she was in a relationship, and today, just to be with you, she washed her face several times..."
Fang Qing turned around and saw the two thick eyebrows on Wang Nan's forehead.
"Puff, Sister Nan, your eyebrows..."
Wang Nan covered her brows in annoyance. "What are you laughing at? It's all because of you! They said we were going to a fancy place today and I wouldn't look good without makeup. Otherwise, do you think I'd want to suffer this?"
As they chatted and laughed, Fang Qing's depression finally eased a little. Unable to refuse their kindness, she changed her clothes and re-tagged Wang Nan's eyebrows. The four sisters happily went out for the rest of the night.
After a few days, Fang Qing finally returned to normal, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Fang Qing packed her bag and headed straight to the library with Wang Nan. It was Monday, and the public computer room was open, so she could finally go in and use the internet.
Before leaving, Wen Ning had taken her there to learn how to use the computer to write documents, send and receive emails, and even taught her how to access information online and even how to use CAD for computer drawing.
Fang Qing's spirits brightened at the thought of Wen Ning's email in her mailbox.
Zhang Jiaqi glanced at Fang Qing's cheerful back, pulled a slip of paper from the dictionary, and sighed, shaking her head. "Why can't I meet such a good man?"
On the clean slip of paper, a line of vigorous penmanship was written: "
After I leave, please help me take care of her. It's best to take her out more often. I'll reimburse the expenses. Thank you very much!
- Wen Ning."
