Chapter 20: Before falling asleep on the twentieth day of knowing each other...
Chapter 20: Twenty Days After Acquaintance, Before Falling to Sleep...
Before falling asleep, Kwon Ji-yong chatted with his agent on his phone, completely unconcerned about whether his agent was awake in the dead of night, or whether he'd be devastated the next morning after reading the news.
Kwon Ji-yong once said that whether a relationship is public or not isn't up to him, but if the woman wants it, he'll go public. Even though he's not with Wu Yunxi right now, Kwon Ji-yong had already told his agent in advance.
He slept really well that night. The drive here was breathtaking, and he had the person he loved by his side. Wu Yunxi smiled as she fell asleep, and when she woke up that morning, she felt incredibly refreshed.
She didn't rush out of bed, but instead opened her tablet to review her previously made plans and some brief information about Sailimu Lake she'd found online. The Sailimu Lake Scenic Area is divided into six functional zones: the lakeside scenic area, the nomadic grassland area, the ecological landscape conservation area, the swan and other rare bird habitat protection area, the comprehensive tourism service area, and the pristine ecological environment preservation area.
After Kwon Ji-yong woke up, the two of them went to eat something before Wu Yunxi opened her tablet. Since they were planning to stay here for about two days, she wanted to ask Kwon Ji-yong if there was any place he particularly wanted to visit.
She'd briefly reviewed Wu Yunxi's travel guide the previous day, and it was like a meeting with staff at work with tons of PowerPoint presentations. Wu Yunxi simply smiled as Kwon Ji-yong complained about it. Actually, Wu Yunxi rarely made presentations for work. After all, her job was just to handle a small part, with others collaborating on the rest. So, after learning this in school, she'd mostly applied it to travel and other things, unrelated to work.
The two of them discussed it, and when they saw the pictures Wu Yunxi had created in the presentation, they really wanted to see the scenery in person. They decided to go see the swans first.
Wu Yunxi had overheard the people at the next table discussing this during dinner, and it sounded really good. After sharing her plan with Kwon Ji-yong, and getting his approval, they took their phones and tablets back to their rooms to pack up before setting off together.
The hotel is located some distance from the swan habitat reserve, but a special hotel shuttle is available. Visitors who wish to visit can simply wait at a designated location.
After returning to their room and applying another layer of sunscreen, Wu Yunxi donned a hat, strapped on her camera, and placed her essentials in her bag, then waited in the living room for Quan Zhilong.
Quan Zhilong, who was a bit slower than Wu Yunxi in packing, chose some clothes he liked. The two of them walked together to the designated location, where they waited for a shuttle, which took about twenty minutes. When they arrived, the place wasn't particularly crowded, as many people believe it's a rare place to see swans or other rare birds, though some do.
However, most people don't stay long, and since they can only observe from a distance, unlike at some zoos where you can get up close and personal with the animals or feed them.
Wu Yunxi and Quan Zhilong followed the crowd inside, which then gradually dispersed, each trying to find a good vantage point for viewing or taking good photos.
The two began walking slowly from the right, stopping to snap a photo whenever they found a spot they liked. If they felt the crowds were getting larger, they continued walking.
After finding a slightly emptier spot, Wu Yunxi stood there, pondering, then squatted down to feel the grass for dampness. After confirming it was fine, she pulled a folded cloth from her bag and spread it out, just enough for the two of them to sit down. However, there wasn't much space left. After all, it was just something she'd thought about before leaving.
"Oppa, sit down for a while,"
Wu Yunxi patted the spot next to her, inviting Quan Zhiyong, who was still standing, to sit down and rest. Many people sat down like Wu Yunxi, but they were reminded to take any trash they created with them when they left to avoid endangering these lovely birds. This
wasn't Quan Zhiyong's first time seeing swans, but those times were mostly kept in captivity. There were rarely any keepers around, giving this place a sense of unfettered beauty.
The two watched for a while, resting for a moment before standing up again. Quan Ji-yong helped Wu Yunxi pack up and took her bag. Although a little surprised, Wu Yunxi had seen plenty of men carry bags, so she obliged and handed it to Quan Ji-yong, smiling and saying thank you. They
walked in that direction and exited the other way, deciding to grab lunch. It wasn't too early, as it was almost 1:20 after their shopping trip. They headed back to the restaurant and took a private car back to the hotel.
Fortunately, the restaurant's availability depended on whether there were customers. Once an order was placed, it would be prepared and served. So, after looking at pictures and Wu Yunxi searching and translating, they ordered two or three dishes. Quan Ji-yong was about to order something else, but Wu Yunxi stopped him, lest they leave food unfinished and waste it later.
When one of the dishes was served, Quan Ji-yong finally understood why Wu Yunxi had stopped him. It was true that it was important to rely on the experience of those who had been there first.
Although Quan Zhiyong didn't say anything, Wu Yunxi knew he must be surprised by the sheer size of the food. He raised an eyebrow with a hint of pride, as if to say, "Look, I'm right, aren't I?"
Quan Zhiyong gave a helpless smile and nodded, promising to listen more closely to Wu Yunxi's opinions next time.
After dinner, the two decided to return to their rooms to rest for an hour before continuing their sightseeing. When they woke up, they decided to visit the scenic grasslands, where they could ride horses and see large herds of sheep.
The scenery was truly stunning. From afar, it felt like the wind rustling the grass, revealing herds of cattle and sheep. It was a scene that seemed indescribable. Wu Yunxi heard the sound of the wind, her hair rising and falling, as if it were a greeting.
The long dress she'd put on that afternoon blended seamlessly with the surroundings, but when it came time to experience horseback riding, she changed into
something more comfortable. Under the guidance of the staff, Wu Yunxi and Quan Zhiyong gradually mastered the art of riding, even managing to trot a bit.
After the activity concluded and Wu Yunxi dismounted, she stumbled, only to be caught by the quick-witted Quan Zhiyong.
The staff member, who had already offered a hand, silently withdrew his hand and reminded the two.
"Guests, you can go back home tonight and take a bath to relieve your aches and pains. If you notice any chafing on your thighs, you can ask the front desk for medicine."
"Okay, thank you,"
Wu Yunxi, the one who spoke the better Chinese, took the initiative to thank them. Frankly, it wouldn't be a big deal if the staff didn't remind her, but it was helpful.
After changing back into her own clothes, Wu Yunxi greeted Quan Zhiyong, who was waiting for her not far from the entrance. The two chatted as they slowly walked away.
"Did you notice just now? They look like celebrities,"
said a rider on the other side, caught by Wu Yunxi's graceful mount. He then noticed a man beside Wu Yunxi and wanted to ask if he was a celebrity, but he never got the chance. Furthermore, he felt it wouldn't be appropriate to ask directly, so he discussed the matter quietly after the two had left.
"It really seems to be, but I'm not quite sure who it is."
Wu Yunxi and Quan Zhilong were oblivious to the discussion behind them. They were discussing what to have for dinner in the restaurant, ultimately deciding on the signature roasted whole lamb. However, a whole lamb wouldn't be enough for two people, so when ordering, they followed the waiter's recommendation and only ordered a quarter, along with a refreshing soup.
The meal was truly satisfying, and the roasted whole lamb had absolutely no mutton smell. It was truly delicious. If only their stomachs hadn't already told them they were full, they would have wanted more.
After their meal, they didn't rush back to their room. Looking out the restaurant window, they noticed the beautiful night view. The waiter suggested fireflies might be seen not far away, and they agreed to go see if they had the chance. They
didn't deliberately go in that direction, but slowly followed the path others had taken. Both Wu Yunxi and Quan Zhilong enjoyed this undisturbed time.
"Oppa, walking slowly like this really makes people feel happy physically and mentally. Did you find any good inspiration today?"
Wu Yunxi knew that Quan Zhilong was writing songs for his album. Although she didn't know when the new album would be released, out of trust in Quan Zhilong, Wu Yunxi thought that she would buy a copy no matter when. Of course, such a plan would definitely not be told to Quan Zhilong directly, as she would still feel a little embarrassed.
In order to be able to hear the new album earlier, Wu Yunxi would ask Quan Zhilong about the progress from time to time, and of course the answers were roughly the same every time.
"So you came out for a walk with me just to listen to songs, Yunxi?"
Quan Zhilong sometimes imitated Wu Yunxi and spoke in an inverted sentence, just like asking Wu Yunxi at this time.
"Yeah~ of course!"
