Chapter 6 Dark Spots
It was already dawn when Li Qiqi returned home.
She asked her best friend to go home. At this point, she wanted to be alone and quiet.
The light shone on Li Qiqi's haggard face, illuminating her helpless eyes. She pulled the curtains and hid herself in the darkness.
Such a ridiculous thing happened to her, which she had never encountered in her 25 years of life. She was afraid of everything she had experienced, and even more afraid of the unknown future.
Wang Sanbei’s experience is still vivid in people’s minds. If it wasn’t so dangerous, why would the police pay so much attention to her?
But now Li Qiqi's mind was a mess and she couldn't think of so many details . She rushed to the bathroom, took out a towel and wanted to wipe her face.
A handful of clean water splashed on her face. Li Qiqi reached out and was about to pick up the facial cleanser. She looked in the mirror with tired eyes, but when she saw her face clearly, her eyes suddenly widened.
Li Qiqi trembled, looked at herself in the mirror, touched her face, and took two steps back.
The slippers made a "tapping" sound on the bathroom floor, followed by Li Qiqi's heavy breathing.
With her throat surging, Li Qiqi looked at her face in the mirror again, rubbing it in disbelief, gasping for breath, with lingering fear still in her eyes.
I must have seen it wrong.
Li Qiqi just saw that her face didn't look like herself anymore, but instead looked like...
"No, how could it be possible? I must have seen it wrong."
Li Qiqi murmured, washed her face again, and became more awake. She looked in the mirror again and realized that her face was still exactly the same, haggard and pale.
Li Qiqi staggered to the living room, picked up the water cup, drank a sip, and then curled up on the sofa. This cozy little house in the past could not give her any sense of security at this moment, but she had nowhere to go. Nowhere in this world was safe.
Clutching the quilt tightly, memories swirled in her mind. She couldn't say it, but she remembered it clearly.
This... is really not a ghost?
Without thinking any more, Li Qiqi took out her cell phone tremblingly, and after a while, she entered a phone number.
"Beep, beep."
The ringtone echoed in the empty room. Li Qiqi waited quietly. After the call was connected for a while, a female voice came from the phone amid the noisy chatter.
"Hello? Who's that?"
"mom."
"It's me."
Li Qiqi paused, "How have you been lately?"
"Li Qiqi? You finally decided to call me?"
My mother's voice rose an octave, and she swung the mahjong in her hand violently, causing it to hit the table with a sharp sound.
"You dare to change your phone number? Are you going to cut off ties with me? I just want you to get married early and give your dowry to your brother as a betrothal gift. Is that necessary?"
"Why are you calling me? I don't have a penny. Don't even think about getting any money from me."
"You're so unfilial, you're going to go to hell!"
Am I...going to hell?
Li Qiqi scratched her arm; she felt a little itchy.
But she didn't care. Tears filled her pupils. The regret in her pupils faded away. She revealed a ferocious expression and cursed fiercely into the phone:
"You slut, bitch, you've been cheated on and you still have to help others count their money. Who would want to be your daughter? You love your son so much, just wait to see him off to his grave!"
"Crazy girl, what are you talking about?!"
"Psychopath, I'm talking about you. Not only will I not go to hell, I will live a good life. I want to see how miserable and destitute you are."
Li Qiqi scratched her arm again, this time with more force. She could feel red marks through her clothes, but she couldn't stop.
She felt the itch growing, and not just on her arms.
"Crazy girl, just wait, if you talk , you will not end up well."
"No more beatings! What's the point of beatings! You crazy girl, I just didn't beat you enough before..."
"You're not worthy of being my mother!"
Li Qiqi hung up the phone impatiently, then threw the phone from her ear to the sofa. She used her free right hand to scratch her left arm with all her strength. This time, Li Qiqi scratched very hard, and she felt her arm was very itchy.
Very itchy.
Why is it so itchy?
Why is it itchy so much?!
But what scared Li Qiqi was not only the itching, but also the growth. She felt like something was growing out of her skin.
Growth?
Li Qiqi's pupils dilated noticeably, revealing an unconcealable shock. She then rushed to the bathroom and looked at the mirror again.
Li Qiqi in the mirror looked even more unfamiliar. She stared at her pale face, her lips trembling uncontrollably. Then she hurriedly took off her clothes and exposed her left arm in front of the mirror.
The dark spots were densely packed on Li Qiqi's left arm, like ink, falling on her left shoulder, dripping like little black plum blossoms.
“Ugh…Ugh!”
The physiological nausea was completely uncontrollable, and yellow gastric fluid flowed out of Li Qiqi's mouth. Li Qiqi held her stomach and lay on the sink, feeling extremely terrified. She tried desperately to rub off the rashes on her shoulders, but it had no effect.
“No… No… ”
Absolutely not.
"Can't!!!"
A sharp scream echoed throughout the room. Li Qiqi screamed, her eyes completely consumed by fear, and rushed out of the room. Outside, there was a knock on the door and someone calling "Li Qiqi's" name. The police officer who stayed behind heard Li Qiqi's unusual movement and wanted to come in to see what was going on.
But now all Li Qiqi could see were those black spots. She rushed to the kitchen, half-crouched down and took out a knife, still muttering and wailing.
The police officer outside made the sound of pressing the code. Li Qiqi had told him the code of her door lock before, so there was no need to break in.
But they were still a step too late.
The police officer who stuck his head out only saw this scene——
Li Qiqi, standing in the kitchen, stared at her left arm with empty eyes. Her face showed extreme fear. She gritted her teeth, held the knife in her right hand, raised it high, and then brought it down fiercely.
The slender fruit knife pierced Li Qiqi's arm, and blood flowed down her arm. Pain and despair twisted and swirled on her face, and a miserable scream squeezed out of her throat, but then she was overcome by even greater fear. She gripped the knife handle again, pressing it tightly against her teeth, then gripped the knife handle with her right hand and twisted it hard.
"ah!!"
A piece of bloody flesh fell to the ground, throbbing. Li Qiqi's painful face revealed a look of relief. Her body lost its strength and collapsed to the ground. The next moment, the police rushed over and helped her up from the pool of blood...
