Chapter 641 Joy, Great Joy (1)
The upper world, the Western Regions.
In the extreme north and south of the Western Regions, between the endless snow-capped mountains, billions of rivers and streams converge and become two great rivers, a million miles wide. They break through the endless mountain and forest barriers, tearing apart the plains of the earth. Finally, in the central part of the Western Regions, the two rivers merge into one, winding their way to the southeast.
The name of this river is Wuyou!
The places where the river flows and the areas covered by the water system are all under the jurisdiction of Buddhism.
The Buddha's light shines everywhere, and under the protection of Buddhism, trillions of living beings enjoy peace, happiness and freedom from worries. That is why this river is called Wuyou.
At the place where the northern and southern tributaries of Wuyou River converge, just west of the Sancha River Valley, there is a sacred mountain called "Lion Ridge". It is majestic and shaped like a crouching lion. It is ten thousand miles high and one million miles in radius. There is an ancient temple in the mountain named Dajue.
Dajue Temple is the dojo of Yuanjue, the great Lion-power Bodhisattva of the upper world of Buddhism.
This mountain and this temple are the gateway to the Western Regions, and can be regarded as the guardian of the Buddhist mountain gate in the Western Regions. Over the past countless years, whenever there was a large-scale Buddhist movement, many Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Vajra, Heavenly Kings, Vajras, Bhikkhus, etc., all gathered here from hundreds of millions of temples in the Western Regions, and set out from here in a mighty procession.
Monk Yuanjue personally took part in many large-scale expeditions of Buddhism and bravely served as the vanguard. He killed more than a million demons and evil spirits, and "accidentally injured" more than a million Taoist immortals.
Therefore, the demons and monsters that have disappeared into thin air were once called "thief bald guard dogs"!
Nowadays, in the Dao Court, which is so powerful that it shares half of the upper world with the Buddhist sect, there are also countless immortals who are gritting their teeth at Monk Yuanjue. Because everyone is a "righteous person", they cannot insult him like demons and devils, so the immortals in the Dao Court call Monk Yuanjue the "Buddhist mountain guardian beast"!
No matter it is a 'guard dog' or a 'mountain guardian beast', it firstly shows how powerful Monk Yuanjue is, and secondly it shows his notorious reputation in the upper realm... oh, no, it's a notorious reputation!
On Lion Ridge, a Feng Shui treasure land that hides wind and absorbs air, large areas of dragon-scale pines are the color of brass. Each one is as thick as seven or eight people can hug it. They are hundreds of feet high and are arranged in neat rows like armored soldiers, stretching out for hundreds of thousands of miles.
The sound of Sanskrit chanting can be heard and the air is filled with incense. These Vajra pines are watered by the power of Buddha all year round and influenced by Buddhist teachings. Each root is extremely hard, and the bark is like dragon scales with winding lines on it, which naturally condense into fierce and brave images of Vajra and Heavenly Kings.
Under the diamond pine, the soil is golden in color and as hard as diamond. Even ordinary monks using magic weapons can hardly damage the soil. This is the top-grade immortal soil "Seven Treasures Diamond Soil" cultivated by Dajue Temple with endless resources and immeasurable Buddha power for thousands of years.
This diamond soil is extremely solid and ordinary vegetation cannot grow at all.
However, those that can take root, sprout, and thrive in this diamond soil are all top-notch elixirs and rare immortal treasures.
At a glance, in this sparse and neat golden pine forest, near the roots of the trees, colorful Ganoderma lucidum sway in the wind, and ginseng emits a faint fragrance. There are also various rare and precious fairy flowers fluttering in the wind, and various exquisite daturas are spewing pollen, which turns into a mist of light in the sun, and countless magnificent rainbows are rolled up by the wind.
In the Vajra Pine Forest, there is a small path paved with pure white jade sand. Leisurely and calm monks and nuns walk by with scriptures in their hands and smiles.
Under the big pine tree, a lazy arhat was leaning against a huge lying cow rock, dozing off.
In the forest there is a large training ground paved with diamond sand, where groups of mighty warriors and monk soldiers, over ten feet tall and strong in appearance, are practicing Buddhist formations and tempering their bodies under the command of the guardian heavenly kings wearing helmets and armor.
Looking from the sky, huge Zen temples and Buddhist halls are dotted among the diamond pine forests along the mountainside, and they are connected by wide and clean roads like exquisitely carved flawless jades.
Countless Zen temples and Buddhist halls form a natural formation, guarding a magnificent ancient temple on the top of the Lion Ridge in the middle.
This is the main site of Dajue Temple. Ancient and solemn pavilions stretch for thousands of miles, releasing Buddha's light day and night to illuminate all directions. Countless Buddhists come and go among them. The majestic and pure Buddha's power turns into a purple-gold torrent, rushing straight into the sky. In the void millions of miles above the ground, it turns into a lazily crawling blue-haired lion with its head facing the east.
Behind the Dajue Temple, next to a quiet deep pond, there is a bamboo and wood pavilion standing by the water.
A three-meter-long green-haired lion was crawling on a small pier that was more than ten meters long in the deep pool. It was shaking its tail, poking its head out, drooling, and staring at dozens of motionless golden-scaled carps at the bottom of the deep pool.
These large golden-scaled carps are all of a different species, more than ten feet long, with golden whiskers and silver horns, and they look like they might turn into dragons.
They huddled at the bottom of the deep pool, trembling with fear, looking at the drooling lion head above them in horror through the almost transparent water.
In the monastery, Monk Yuanjue was sitting cross-legged on a cushion, holding a sutra in front of him. In front of him was an ordinary granite statue carved into a human shape.
He muttered to himself, chanting Buddhist scriptures to the granite statue and telling it about the profound Buddhist principles he had comprehended.
After muttering like this for a long time, the granite statue remained motionless and showed no reaction at all.
Monk Yuanjue slapped out with his left hand, and with a "bang", the stone statue was completely annihilated.
A wisp of green smoke slowly dissipated, and Monk Yuanjue dropped the sutra in his hand and laughed loudly: "I can't even make a stubborn stone nod when I preach, which shows that my Buddhist practice is not enough... Since my Buddhist practice is not enough, it shows that I am not a qualified bodhisattva... Since I am not a qualified bodhisattva, I don't need to observe too many rules and regulations!"
After talking to himself for a while, Monk Yuanjue said cheerfully: "You evil creature, you have violated the precept of killing again!"
He pointed at the green-haired lion lying on the pier and shouted angrily.
The green-haired lion drooled, not even bothering to respond to him, waving its claws, impatiently slapping the deep pool. With a loud bang, a powerful force rushed down the pool water, knocking out a large golden carp with incredible precision.
The fainted big carp floated up into the deep pool with its white belly turned up. Behind the monastery, four big monks with burly arms, round waists, greasy faces rushed out with fish knives. They grabbed the big carp very skillfully, cut it open beside the deep pool, scraped off its scales, and cooked it very carefully and meticulously with all kinds of spices and cooking wine.
Monk Yuanjue, with his hands behind his back, walked slowly to the outside of the monastery and watched the four big monks perform their operations.
He coughed lightly and said quietly, "Let's cook the fish head in a clay pot and add more basil leaves for seasoning. Well, remember not to add too much spices, lest they cover the original flavor of the fish... As a monk, you should have a lighter taste!"
"Buddha is merciful. Good, good, good. From today on, I will chant a few more Buddhist scriptures to pray for this fish to be reborn into a wealthy family as soon as possible, so that it can have more blessings and a long life in the next life, and have many children and grandchildren... I can also say that I am saving all living beings and accumulating blessings and virtues!"
The green-haired lion drooled and shook its head as it approached the four monks.
The four monks kept digging out the entrails of the golden carp, and after cleaning them, they threw them to the green-haired lion. The big guy was not picky about food, and he swallowed the fish intestines, fish belly, and even the bitter gallbladder one mouthful at a time, making "ah-woo" sounds while eating, and his tail swung like a windmill.
"Boom!"
The sound of a bell rang in all directions, and Monk Yuanjue's brows suddenly raised.
"Hmm? This is... a disciple from the lower world is holding a grand ceremony! He is targeting me by name?" Monk Yuanjue slightly moved his right hand fingers in his sleeve, and suddenly laughed: "It's that little thief Fahai... Hmm, hmm... him?"
Monk Yuanjue suddenly showed an expression of ecstasy.
"The Supreme Heaven and the Primordial Spirit Heaven, the two lower realms have been unified by my Buddhist sect... All the Buddhist disciples of the Great Brahma Pure World Sect, the Great Vajra Temple, etc., have all been accepted as disciples of my Great Awakening Temple, and will worship my image and respect me as the founder of the sect?"
"Are both worlds the place where I teach my true teachings?"
“Wonderful!”
Monk Yuanjue's eyes widened, and golden light shone from them, illuminating the entire deep pool. It looked like a pool of molten gold rolling, and dozens of golden-scaled carps at the bottom of the pool were so scared that they rolled their eyes and spread their scales.
"This boy is a capable person!"
Monk Yuanjue's body shook and he went straight to the main hall of Dajue Temple.
Several monks, with golden light all over their bodies and wearing purple gold robes, with spiritual clouds hovering above their heads, and wisps of golden light like necklaces, continuously falling from the spiritual clouds to the ground, splashing golden flowers, were already waiting in the hall.
Seeing Monk Yuanjue, a beautiful female cultivator held a golden scroll in both hands and handed it to him.
"Master, this is the Dharma text presented by the monk Fahai from the lower world during the Dharma Assembly."
"The monk Fahai has unified the two worlds. Soon, he will lead a group of carefully selected disciples from the lower world to ascend to heaven."
Monk Yuanjue took out the scroll, gently unfolded it, took a look, nodded and smiled, "Very good, very good... But why are all of you here together?"
A tall and thin young monk, who was nearly 20 feet tall, put his hands together and bowed to Monk Yuanjue: "Master, this monk Fahai was listed on the Daluo Blood List of the Hunyuan Luotian Sect a few days ago... According to the news sent back by our disciples who were placed in the Hunyuan Luotian Sect, the old bull nose, Feizi, personally named and wanted to kill Monk Fahai!"
Monk Yuanjue was stunned for a moment, then he laughed, "Mayfly, this is shameless! Why would a leader of a sect fight with a child? Well, why did he want to kill Fahai?"
The young monk then recounted in detail the news that all the descendants of Qingming Patriarch of Hunyuan Luotian Sect had been killed, that the Gate of Creation among the Thirteen Flags of Hunyuan Luotian Sect's fundamental formation had lost its master, and that the Essence of Creation that Feizi had been drinking every day for years had been eradicated.
This information is confidential to many high-ranking officials of Hunyuan Luotian Sect, but is clearly known to the monks of Dajue Temple!
There is no need to say much about the influence of Buddhism on Hunyuan Luotian Sect.
Monk Yuanjue narrowed his eyes and said, "The essence of life? Mayfly? Haha, this essence is probably not just a little hobby... That old guy must have made a mistake in his cultivation, and he is using this essence to destroy his foundation!"
Rubbing his hands gently, Monk Yuanjue narrowed his eyes and muttered, "Not good, Fahai, the little thief bald, has offended me to death... However, he wants to touch my disciple, hey."
He began to droop his eyelids and mutter to himself.
What is this, "It takes three stakes to make a fence", "It takes three to make a hero", "The righteous have many supporters, the unrighteous have few"...
He muttered it very diligently.
