Volume 5: The Burning Golden Flame Chapter 322 Beach Vacation
Silence lasted for a long time in the Malfoy's living room.
Draco's eyes were wide open and his mouth was open. He seemed to have something to say, but no matter what he did, he couldn't get a single syllable out of his throat.
Narcissa was stunned. The polite smile on her face had completely frozen, as if that sentence had such a destructive power that it had killed all the nerves in her face.
After saying this, Brandon looked into Lucius' eyes silently. Lucius' eyes narrowed instantly and his face twitched slightly, but he also made no sound.
Emil, who was sitting next to , watched the changes in the expressions of the three Malfoy family members coldly, with a barely perceptible sneer faintly revealed at the corner of his mouth.
That smile seemed to be mocking, but also seemed to be showing pity.
"Master...what do you mean?"
Lucius looked at Brandon, and his questioning tone didn't reveal much doubt, but seemed to emphasize something.
Brandon said, smiling and nodding.
"Yes, this is what the master meant. We need this victory."
"Of course we need this victory! But...but what about my son!" Lucius stared into his eyes, "I don't care if Draco helps Emil win! What I care about is whether he can guarantee his own safety in this game!"
Brandon remained calm in the face of Lucius' increasingly irritable attitude. He tapped his arm with his fingers and spoke softly.
"That's what I came for, Lucius. The Master's orders are for Emil to take the crown, for Draco to live, and for that brat named Jon Green... to die!"
…
Jon is enjoying the sunshine.
Sunbathing is indeed a rare pleasure, especially on a golden beach, with the breeze and waves constantly beating the sand, bringing people a refreshing and moist air.
This is their third day in Nice. The Mediterranean climate makes the summer here sunny, making it a rare holiday destination.
There were many tourists at the beach during this season, and with Jon and Hermione there, it was impossible for the Weasleys and Longbottoms to be dressed in any way that was different from normal Muggles.
Apart from the strange looks Arthur got from the parking lot attendant at the beach because he was too enthusiastic in chatting him up and asking him how cars should be maintained in general, they didn't encounter any problems at other times.
"Ron is watching other people fishing." Hermione complained to Jon as she helped Ginny bury her in the sand. "According to what you said before, what is he now? A fisherman?"
Jon took off his sunglasses, looked around and found that only Hermione and Ginny were around him.
"Where's Gabrielle?"
"Even if Mrs. Weasley helped put some powder on her face, it couldn't hide the fact that her complexion was a little too transparent. I saw Ron whispering something to her just now, and she dived underwater, as if to mess with those uncles who were fishing."
Jon couldn't help but be speechless. He had heard of underwater fishing before, but today he actually encountered underwater fishing.
"Well, at least she can still have some fun. As long as she doesn't get mistaken for a water ghost."
Jon lay back on the beach chair, and before he could put on his sunglasses again to continue enjoying the sunshine, Neville and Charlie Bill came to Jon with a roll of mat.
"Hey, look what we found at the store, Jon, wanna play some cards?"
Jon put down his sunglasses and sat up from the recliner.
"What do you know how to play?"
Charlie unsealed the card pack expertly and shuffled it in his hands.
"Bill and I know some Muggle games, like bridge."
Neville and Jon looked at each other and shrugged.
"That's a coincidence. We used to play these when we were bored in the carriage, mahjong, cards or wizard chess."
Hermione was still making sandcastles with Ginny, and the four of them were just right.
It was from Bill that Jon learned that Arthur was fascinated by the speedboats for rent and sale at the seaside, and was discussing with Neville's father how to spend money to rent one for fun.
Fred and George were shopping in a Muggle department store. They privately exchanged the gold Galleons funded by Durmstrang for some francs (the euro began to circulate after 2002) in order to buy some small items that could inspire them.
This is not considered embezzlement of public funds. Muggle things can indeed give them a lot of creative ideas. For example, their half-finished broom hunter was modified from a TV antenna.
Mrs. Weasley was supposed to be with the twins at first. She was going to buy some daily necessities in the department store and then send them directly back home. However, in order to conceal the fact that she had money on hand, the twins probably soon found an excuse to separate from her.
Just as Jon and the others were playing cards, Ron suddenly ran over from the fishing area in a panic, holding a large cardboard box in his hands.
He sat down next to Jon and the others, panting. Then the top of the cardboard box was opened and Gabrielle, with algae on her hair, poked her head out pitifully and looked around nervously.
Jon and the other three, who were playing with cards in their hands, looked at them strangely.
"What's wrong with you?"
"It was so close, Gabrielle was almost discovered." Ron said with a look of fear on his face.
Gabrielle grumbled as she picked the algae out of her silver hair in disgust.
"I saw an uncle who hadn't caught any fish for a long time, so I thought of catching one to help him hang it on his hook. But before I could hang it on, his hook got caught on my robe!"
"I was at the shore at the time, and the Muggle thought he had caught a big fish. Before he even pulled the line in, he started to show off loudly to the people around him."
Ron looked helpless. As he spoke, Gabrielle grabbed a corner of her robe and showed it to Jon and the others.
"He tore my robe! I couldn't get the hook out of my body. If my robe hadn't been torn, I would have been fished out of the sea by him!"
Jon and Hermione had strange expressions on their faces. They looked at the many people on the beach around them. If Gabrielle was really fished out in public, tomorrow's news would be interesting.
Ginny, who was lying in the sand, comforted her.
"It's good that we weren't discovered, otherwise we would be in big trouble. With so many people around, Mom and Dad wouldn't be able to use the Oblivion Charm."
"But even if they only caught a piece of cloth, the Muggles were still shocked." Ron said fearfully, "They seem to have called the Muggle Aurors over, thinking there was a body underwater. When I escaped with Gabrielle, they were discussing how to salvage it."
