Volume 8: The Fourth Impact Chapter 49: Sounding the Doomsday Alarm Bell and Announcing the Final Battle

"I'll go with you."
After Mason expressed his thoughts, Hunter Ciri also realized the seriousness of the problem.
She got up, changed into a hunting suit and prepared to set off. However, when she and Mason used the teleportation ability granted by the blood of the elders to set out from Star Castle to Utopia, Ciri seemed to encounter some kind of obstacle.
When she was crossing forward one time, she seemed to hit an invisible wall, and the next moment, the two of them fell from a silver crack that suddenly opened.
The place they were at at this moment was obviously not Utopia, but a garden world on the way. Mason vaguely remembered the scenery here. He passed by here the last time he and Deadpool were on their way to Utopia.
This place is not far from the garden world where little Emma is hiding, and the two are separated by only one plane.
"The space-time passage to Utopia has been cut off! I have never encountered such a situation before."
Ciri sensed the scale and state of the space-time interruption ahead, then gripped the hilt of the sword and said to Mason with a serious expression:
“There is a large-scale interference force at work. It is not any kind of interference that I am familiar with, but no matter which adjacent plane you go from, you cannot jump directly to it.
It is very likely that some kind of high-energy blocking device has been activated in the Utopia world, making it impossible for me to confirm their world coordinates. I guess it may not work even if you ask a swordsman to come over.
Unless we use the Eye of Time and Space.
But the passage you created is one-way, and it would take a long time to follow it all the way, and I have reason to believe that the passage must have been monitored."
"Look there."
Mason pointed to the sky behind the hunter, and Ciri looked up and saw a battle between starships breaking out at the end of the horizon of this garden world.
On one side is a hideous warship with a black paint and a strange shape, and on the other side is a warship number with obvious human civilization creations.
"It's the Conqueror's Tenth Order, the 'Halo' fleet."
Ciri immediately recognized the human fleet that was fighting against the alien invaders, and she explained to Mason:
"It is a battle fleet composed entirely of human-modified super space . They generally call themselves 'Nomads', a name with an ominous meaning.
Although this fleet is also a conqueror sequence, they do not participate in foreign wars. Since joining the fleet, they have been performing patrol and security functions. They are the backbone of the Hope Council to protect the Garden World System. They are also the most powerful and gentle force among all the conquerors.
As far as I know, they are directly under the arbitration tribunal, but Mr. A has no power of compulsory order over them.
As for the fleet on the other side..."
"Demon!"
Mason pushed his glasses and said firmly:
"The Destroyer under the command of Darkseid, the tyrant of Apokolips, does not know which dimension of Apokolips he belongs to, but he should have rushed out from the Eye of Time and Space.
The goal is this garden world beneath our feet.
They activated the planetary shield, but I don't think it will last long. The alien demons have always been the trump card in fighting a war of numbers. The Cleaner Corps learned the method of transforming cannon fodder soldiers from the alien demons. "
"so what?"
Ciri drew out the Sword of the Lady of the Lake from behind her. Mason shrugged and said:
"Help me. Do you still have to pretend that you didn't see it? This matter is indeed caused by me, but I will just stay here. You can run an errand for me."
"Um?"
The hunter raised his head unhappily and said:
"Do you doubt my fighting ability? Or do you think that I am a woman and should hide behind a man like you?"
"No, I just don't want you to show up at this time and cause unnecessary trouble. Besides, what time is it? Stop fighting, sister."
Mason transmitted the coordinates of a garden world to Ciri's communicator, and then reached out and patted the naughty silver-haired old girl on the buttocks, urging her:
"Be obedient. Go find that tavern and tell that world-weary bartender to quickly find a way to contact Utopia's relatives and give me an answer after finding out the situation."
When Ciri saw Mason summoning the Fenrir armor and rushing towards the sky, she knew that the little man had no intention of discussing it with her, which made the usually strong exploration master very dissatisfied.
She curled her lips, turned around, created a silver crack, and arrived at the address given by Mason a few minutes later.
But unexpectedly, the tavern of the young White Queen Emma Frost had closed down, but as a master of pioneers, Ciri had a keen sense of that.
She immediately sensed the secret hidden beneath the tavern.
He jumped in and found a secret passage deep underground. He followed it all the way forward and finally arrived at a deep mountain canyon in this mountainous garden world.
What came into Ciri's eyes was a human city built in the valley with a complete defense system and shielding devices. What shocked Ciri was that all the people living in the city were mutants!
And a bold guess is that they should all be mutants from Utopia.
However, when the hunter approached there, an unexpected guy suddenly jumped out and stood in front of her.
"Don't come any closer! If you come any closer I'll... Eh? Why is it you, Master Hunter? I couldn't recognize you after you took off your mask. Oops, I suddenly became blind.
I didn’t mean to offend you.”
Deadpool Wade was brandishing the swords in his hands and saying funny things to try to stop and delay his boss. The appearance of this guy made Ciri look helpless.
She stopped where she was, made a peace sign, and asked:
"Mason asked me to come, but first you have to explain to me what's going on in this city? And these mutants? Such a large number!
Where did they come from?
"We picked it up from another dimension."
Deadpool knew he couldn't beat the Hunter, and seeing that the other party wasn't going to make a move, he put his hands on his hips and pouted:
"Just three hours after that damn scary eye in the sky that gave me nightmares appeared, little Emma sent me a lot of messages like crazy, asking me to leave my dear wife who was taking a bath and preparing to come here to help.
It took the entire Deadpool Corps to find the separation ship that these poor creatures were on in a certain marginal plane, but it was almost destroyed by a group of interstellar werewolves that appeared out of nowhere.
We fought hard to rescue these guys, and now little Emma is helping them settle down.
This was not the first batch of time and space refugees she had secretly accepted.
I don't have a very good relationship with them so I didn't ask much, but I heard from the Dead Head that these guys should have escaped from Utopia, and the mechanical Deadpool also secretly checked their navigation logs.
Well, that’s not quite accurate, these guys seem to have been sent out specially.”
"So, Utopia is planning to evacuate a large number of civilians in a short period of time? Or is it through the eye of time and space created by Mason?"
Ciri sorted out the information and asked again:
"Do you have a way to contact Utopia headquarters?"
"I've tried everything, and it doesn't work."
Deadpool shook his head like a rattle and shouted:
“That damn place has blocked all signals. Even little Emma can’t contact her cunning sister… and I just found out today that the little Emma I secretly sent out that year was actually one of the vanguard officers sent to various worlds by Utopia.
Damn it!
I was taken advantage of by this nasty pair of sisters back then!
After this is over, the two sisters must give me an explanation. Tsk, actually, one night of companionship is enough to calm my anger."
There was no need to pay too much attention to Deadpool's dirty talk. Ciri had collected enough information, so she turned around and asked:
"Mason, did you hear everything?"
"Well, I understand the general situation."
Mason said on the other side:
“Do me a favor, Ciri, and send some Ronin C-class teams to track down the mutant civilians that Utopia sent to various dimensions through the Eye of Time and Space.
Let's put them in... Osborne Tower first, there's plenty of space there."
"No problem. Although the swordsman doesn't like Utopia, she won't sit idly by and watch her compatriots isolated and helpless. But the problem is the situation in Utopia!"
Ciri said as she opened the rift back to Star Castle:
"It's now a black box full of unknown factors. Do you still want to go there?"
"No, no, no need to go."
Mason, who was assisting the besieged Halo Fleet in fighting the alien demons in the attacked Garden World, casually fired a miniature individual nuclear weapon forward. In the burst of energy, he responded in a low voice:
"If they wanted to break out, no one could stop them, but they stayed there and accepted their fate of being surrounded. I already know their plan.
There may be other factors, but one explanation is definitely that they are using this method to attract fire for me, hoping that the Council will no longer have the energy to send people to mess with us before Utopia falls.
They want to see the integration of the worlds completed.
They didn't tell me all this probably because they were afraid it would affect us, and I didn't want to let their efforts go to waste.
grass!
Look at this fucking era!
I'm fed up with having to pay such a high price just to do something good..."
"Mason."
This was the first time that Ciri heard Mason lose control of his emotions to this extent. She turned around and was about to go look for her lover, but was stopped by Mason.
“I’m fine, I just lost control. I can handle it here, Ciri, you go back to Star Castle, prepare for impact response and do your job.
Everyone has to do their part at this time.
At some point in the future, I will settle accounts with them, every single one of them! Every single one of them!"
"The second batch of civilians from 23 cities have been sent to the Eye of Time and Space! Now only the people near the capital are still waiting to be evacuated.
Meanwhile, the Conqueror's Eighth Order Iron Blood warships bombarded the border early this morning, but were destroyed by my brave and fearless Sentinel Corps, just as has been happening throughout the week.
The invaders came with great force, but they were powerless to gain any advantage against the Sentinels head-on."
The Supreme Council Hall of Utopia is where Mason made his declaration when he first and last appeared in Utopia. Today, the hall is still filled with members of the X royal family and various factions of the mutant kingdom.
They were listening to reports on the current situation, sent back by commanders stationed at various strategic points in Utopia.
Professor Supreme stood alone on the second floor. The seat next to him was vacant. It used to belong to his close comrade, but unfortunately the latter had died in the last attack.
This wise, silent, reserved but not old ruler seemed unconcerned about the situation he was being reported on.
He even seemed to be daydreaming, until a few minutes later, when a heated debate from below interrupted his thoughts and made him focus on the meeting again.
"I still don't agree to send our people to that Eye of Time and Space. It is impossible to confirm what is on the other side. We only know that thing can connect adjacent planes, but we can't be sure whether it is another conspiracy of the Council of Hope!"
The iron-blooded and powerful Emperor stood up and shouted to the other members of the parliament:
“We can still hold on!
The Council has only mobilized two Conqueror Sequences to besiege us, but it is impossible to destroy Utopia with such a small force. Those shameless clones and shameless bastards who have hybridized with monsters will never set foot in this world!
We should mobilize our strong and brave people to join this war.
They declared war on us, and we must respond with war.”
"Are we surrendering now?"
Mr. Sinister responded slowly:
"There is no conflict between the soldiers staying in their hometown to fight the invasion and evacuating the civilians who can't play a big role to avoid being harmed by the star destroyer weapons.
As for the appearance of the Eye of Time and Space, it was an accident, but it was an accident that was beneficial to us!
That was some attempt by Mason Cooper.
He is one of us, he may not know the situation we are facing, but he did help unexpectedly, and for this alone he should be awarded another medal weighing one ton. "
"Actually, I think your quarrel is meaningless."
A mutant female councillor took a peek at the Supreme Professor on the second floor and said:
"I even feel that this war is meaningless. It is obvious that the Council hopes to use this threat to force us to accept the 'End Star' plan.
I think we should accept it.
That will be the final game among all the powerful worlds in the Council, and the one that survives will have the right to dominate the Ark that sails to the next era.
Our strength is top-notch in the entire council.
Such a proposal is obviously beneficial to us. We will have to fight them in the end anyway, so we might as well save the country in a roundabout way . What I mean is, we should pretend to obey first..."
"puff"
The sound of the head exploding was like a watermelon exploding, and it instantly silenced the Supreme Hall.
The Supreme Professor, who had been silent the whole time, withdrew his spiritual power as powerful as a god, and said in a gentle tone:
"Sorry, I was distracted just now. What are you discussing? Why do we need to spend more time discussing a plan that has already been decided? Isn't the 'World Fusion' project the first salvation plan proposed by us?
Didn't we disagree with the choice of 'The Final Star' from the beginning?
Are we going to give up our autonomy and put the fate of our people in the hands of others?
We have our own plan and have chosen one of our most outstanding compatriots to be the executor. We are supporting him and looking forward to a perfect ending in these dark times.
Is it wrong that what we want is not a war that destroys everything and cannot give birth to the future, but a gentle ending?
When everyone has fallen into cruelty, we still choose to be kind...
Is there anything wrong with that? "
The professor's voice echoed in the Supreme Hall.
Every word he said was a question, but he didn't need an answer.
Because the answer was in his heart from beginning to end.
"Send out more civilians! Spread the mutant bloodline throughout all planes through the Eye of Time and Space! Don't let down the opportunity created for us by our most outstanding compatriot Mason."
The Supreme Professor raised his hand and said in an unquestionable tone:
“Utopia may not survive the torture of the Fourth Impact, and may die from being stabbed in the back by his companions, but the legacy of mutants will not be cut off at this time.
Our fall will show the way for those who come after us, and they will pass over our bodies and carry our flag! We, with our hands stained with blood, have decided not to bow to violence and darkness.
That’s how it used to be.
It is like this now.
The future will be like this too!"
