Chapter 28 Breaking the Game
Chapter 28 Breakthrough
Standing at the highest point, the sun is still so far away.
Selsi subconsciously touched her waist, and there was nothing there except the broken magic bag.
"Yes, my Lyra is broken." Selsi remembered that its remains were still trapped in the bamboo forest, and it was probably used as nutrients for the bamboo. Selsi felt a little sad, because it was the harp that had been with her the longest, and it was her best companion.
But now is not the time to mourn for the harp. Selsi looked at the sun in the sky, and the strong light made it difficult for her to open her eyes. She clenched the dagger and tied the vines she picked up to the handle of the dagger one by one. Enduring the scorching sunlight and looking directly at the sun, she threw the dagger towards the sun with force, and the dagger was inserted into the sun, or rather, the ceiling with the sun painted on it.
Selsi held Olivia in one hand and grabbed the vines with the other hand and began to climb up. She wanted to take two gambles. One was whether she could get out, and the other was that after getting out, Aurelia would be able to recover. If those foolish elves were really made into part of the mechanism, there was a chance that they could recover after escaping the range of the mechanism.
The sky was so high. Selsi felt that her strength was gradually disappearing, but she did not dare to relax. She bit her lips tightly, hugged Aurelia to her arms again, and continued to climb up with her right hand.
The closer she got to the sun, the more severe the burning sensation on her body. Aurelia had not woken up yet, which was not a good sign.
After climbing for an unknown period of time, Selsi finally saw the dagger inserted in the sky. She grabbed the vines, hung upside down and kicked the fake sun with her feet. The first kick was empty, so she went up again; the second kick was empty, so she went up again; the third kick, the sky shook, and Selsi knew that she had made the right bet.
She kicked the sun frantically with her feet. The sun burned her soles and began to burn her feet. Selsi kicked desperately as if she did not know the pain. Finally, she kicked out a crack, and she struck while the iron was hot, finally opening a small hole. The soles of her feet were already burned and bloody, and the dried blood clung to her peeling calves.
Selsi turned her body back, holding Aurelia and climbing up, twisting and turning to squeeze into the hole.
The center of the sun gathered the strongest light and heat. The child in her arms was sunburned and stung, struggling to wake up. Selsi closed her eyes and hid her deeper in her arms, and she herself became a naked humanoid creature, with skin and bones separated, shrunken and covered with disgusting sticky blood.
When the last toe entered the hole, the vision became dark, and Selsi knew they were back. The tears finally stopped evaporating, and the flow stimulated the red and swollen blind eyes. She felt the weight of her left hand become heavier. She gently stroked Aurelia's face with her hand. It was an adult face. I can't tell whether the disguise has returned, but it should be back. The crisis was over, and Selsi finally lost her strength. She wanted to fall back, but she was afraid of accidentally touching the trap again. She turned her head and felt an extremely faint light. That should be the entrance they came from. She dragged Aurelia and crawled towards the light little by little. The rough stones embedded in the cracked flesh, and the pain deep into the bone marrow numbed Selsi's heart. This short distance seemed to have taken several years to crawl. Thank God for blessing, there will be no traps on the ground on this road. They had tested it when they came.
After dragging Aurelia out of the door, Selsi finally couldn't hold on and fainted.
When Aurelia woke up, Selsi was still unconscious. She remembered what happened in the secret realm. She clearly remembered that she had wanted to kill Selsi, and a wave of fear surged into her head. She looked down and saw Selsi covered with wounds, as if she had fallen into an ice cellar, and her whole body was suffocated by vines. She gasped, trembling, picked up the sleeping Selsi, and ran out of the rain forest.
After leaving the rain forest, she leaned Selsi against a tree. "Wait for me, I'll be back soon." She whispered to Selsi.
Blending into the shadows and hiding in the nearest underground field, she took on several bounty missions with high bounties, and received a large bounty within an hour.
After getting the money, she quickly went back to find Selsi. Seeing that she was still lying unconscious under the tree, the self-blame in her heart swallowed her up like a tsunami. She carefully picked up Selsi and took her to the best hospital in town as quickly as possible.
The doctors were a little panicked when they saw a bruised and battered person holding an unknown creature with black and red spots rushing in, but their professional ethics allowed them to quickly adjust their mentality.
"Doctor, please save her quickly!" Aurelia couldn't stop crying.
The nurses came forward to take Selsi, only to find that this withered stick-like object with withered yellow hair was a person. They
quickly pushed her into the operating room, and Aurelia paced back and forth outside the door. A nurse looked at her and stepped forward to remind her worriedly: "Miss, your injuries also need treatment."
Aurelia turned a deaf ear to it. Selsi protected her very well, and the injuries on her body were nothing compared to the previous ones. She was obviously the stronger party, but she couldn't even protect her beloved. Thinking of this, she clenched her fists, and her nails dug into her palms, but this was not even one ten-thousandth of the pain of Selsi.
Seeing the self-blaming expression of the patient, the nurse gently advised: "The person inside should be very important to you. She should also hope to see a healthy you after she comes out."
Aurelia stared at the little nurse, who was frightened by her cold eyes. Fortunately, Aurelia quickly retracted her gaze, and she couldn't hear her humming if she didn't listen carefully.
"Hey, you agreed? Okay, I'll arrange a doctor now." The little nurse took her to find a doctor after she finished speaking.
Aurelia stared at her feet all the way. She was right. She had to get better first and couldn't let Selsi down, so that she could take better care of her.
When Aurelia's treatment was over, Selsi still didn't come out of the operating room.
She squatted in front of the operating room door and buried her face in her arms.
The hurried footsteps came closer and closer. She opened her eyes and saw a back figure entering the operating room. The robe she was wearing was from the Mage Tower.
She hurriedly grabbed the accompanying nurse and asked about Selsi's condition.
The nurse told her that the patient was in a very bad condition. The doctors could only barely keep her vital signs, but could not completely heal her injuries. Those wounds were caused by magic. The doctors were just ordinary people and could only ask the mages from the Mage Tower to treat her.
The nurse quickly informed her of the basic condition and went in, leaving Aurelia to fall to the ground and cry.
Perhaps she fainted from lack of oxygen due to crying too hard, or perhaps she fell asleep because she was too tired and sleepy. Aurelia was startled by the sound of the door opening. When she got up, her head felt sore and painful like a seed breaking through the soil. She ignored the nausea and quickly looked at Selsi who was pushed out.
Selsi was wrapped in bandages like a mummy on the stretcher. Aurelia listened to the doctor's instructions and followed Selsi as she was pushed to the inpatient department until she could no longer see him.
"The patient's vital signs have stabilized and the operation was basically successful, but her injuries cannot be completely healed in a short time, and she will need to continue follow-up treatment in the next few days."
"Then when will she wake up, doctor?"
"Well...it may take some time."
Aurelia sat beside Selsi's bed in a daze, thinking about what the doctor had just said, and pursed her lips.
