Chapter 29 Confession
Chapter 29 Confession
The patients in the ward changed batch after batch, but Selsi's sleep was never disturbed by the outside world.
Aurelia sat by the bed. Her clothes were still clean and tidy, but her hair, which was always neatly tied, was scattered on her shoulders. The dark circles under her eyes exposed her pretending to be calm.
She had to take good care of herself and not let her lover worry about her. But it was really difficult. It was her fault for not protecting her. She was always worried about Selsi. When she took the task to make money, she almost caused a disaster because of distraction.
Aurelia traced Selsi's face with her eyes. She had lost a lot of weight. The bandages on her body had been removed, but the scars had not been completely eliminated. The doctor and the magician said that after a few more treatments, it would be completely healed and there would be no scars.
Aurelia looked at these burn scars. She wished it was on her body.
She picked up the apple next to her and peeled it. She didn't want to eat it, but just wanted to find something to do.
The apple peel fell off in a whole strip. Every time she looked up after peeling the apple, she would see Selsi waking up.
The peel was thrown into the trash can. Aurelia looked up, and Selsi was quiet.
Aurelia put the apple on the counter, looked up and slumped in the chair.
People were coming and going outside the ward, and the room was quiet.
After a long time, Aurelia said: "Will you like me? I hope she will..."
"...But what can I bring to her?"
"What is there in me that is worthy of her liking?"
"What if she doesn't like girls?"
She seemed to be talking to someone, but she was just talking to herself.
The room returned to silence.
"I love you, no matter what, I want you to know." Aurelia turned her head to look at Selsi and held her hand with both hands. "I don't know which day the accident will come first, and I don't want to regret it."
No matter what the result is, she will accept it.
She stretched out her fingers and interlocked them with Selsi's fingers, hoping that she would forgive her little selfishness. She bowed her head devoutly and wanted to kiss her hand, and a tingling sensation passed through the palm of her hand.
Aurelia came back to her senses and stood beside the bed. She felt the itch of her fingers touching her hand. She looked up at Selsi. The person on the bed still had her eyes closed, but the movement of her hand gradually increased.
Aurelia immediately let go and called the doctor. The doctor examined Selsi by the bed, and Aurelia stood there in a daze. She was excited that Selsi finally woke up, but she didn't know if her words were heard.
This was a trial, but Aurelia was excited, or perhaps afraid, and couldn't figure it out. She felt her mind was blank.
The doctors who were surrounding her dispersed, and Aurelia saw Selsi awake.
Her eyes were dull and she collapsed on the bed exhausted.
Aurelia listened to the doctor's instructions, her eyes never left Selsi.
Seeing her condition, the doctor sighed, confirmed that she had written down all the precautions, and hurried away, leaving the space for them.
Aurelia looked at the person on the bed, thousands of words combined into one sentence: "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere else?"
Selsi wanted to open her mouth, but her dry throat couldn't make any sound.
Aurelia realized and passed the cup of water to her lips, the water soaked her cracked lips. Selsi raised her hand slightly to indicate that she was okay.
Aurelia put the cup of water back on the bedside table, turned her head, and saw Selsi looking at her. She looked back, and their eyes met, speechless.
Aurelia was uneasy, and the telepathy failed at this time. She didn't know what Selsi was thinking. When she spoke, her voice was trembling.
"It's my fault that I didn't protect you well, causing you to be so badly injured."
This was not what she wanted to say, but she didn't know what to say other than this.
Selsi was silent, and Aurelia's heart slowly sank.
"What did you do wrong? I insisted on entering the temple, you have done what you can, I also have my own skills, I am not someone who needs to be protected blindly, you see I brought you out with me. Don't feel guilty, all the consequences are my own responsibility."
A hand held Aurelia's uneasy hand, Selsi thought, she just woke up and hasn't recovered yet, why is this person so panicked.
Aurelia listened to her words, her body slowly relaxed, and she chuckled. Yes, the one in front of her was not some delicate princess, but a wild and unruly lion.
However, Selsi's next words made her body straighten instantly.
"You love me, I know now."
Aurelia's eyes were wandering, not knowing where to look.
The next moment, her head was lifted up, and she was forced to look directly into Selsi's blue eyes.
"Although I have seen many customs and customs, I have never experienced what love is. I think I have feelings for you, I don't know when it started, it's not friendship, is it family affection? It seems not. When I think of being with you, my heart can't calm down, I hope to walk with you all the way from now on. I can't tell, if this is love, are you willing to try it with me?"
Happiness came too suddenly, is this the eloquence of the bard? When Aurelia realized what she said, she had already agreed.
With excitement surging in her heart, Aurelia wanted to hug Selsi and kiss her, but seeing the hospital gown she was wearing, she finally just kissed the back of Selsi's hand.
"Once you stamp it, you're mine."
Selsi smiled cunningly and hooked her finger to signal the other party to come closer.
Aurelia leaned forward and a sweet kiss fell on her lips.
The cold and arrogant queen was visibly red from her neck to her earlobes.
Selsi smiled and shrank into the quilt, "I'm tired, you are not allowed to come to me."
Aurelia looked at her helplessly, "Have a good rest, I won't bother you anymore."
Aurelia sat in a chair and looked at Selsi's sleeping face, and the two of them never let go of their clasped hands.
The remaining treatment time was neither long nor short. Selsi was discharged from the hospital a few days later.
They had to stay in this town for a while longer. The Duke's invitation letter was lost in the illusion, so Selsi could only write a new letter and ask the Duke to send them another invitation letter. The reply has not come yet, so they have to stay here and wait, and also to continue to observe Selsey's condition.
Selsey's original long curly hair was partially burnt, curled and dry, so she simply cut it short. Selsey with short hair looks less soft and more neat than before.
"It's a pity that I kept it for so long."
Selsey sighed as she touched her newly cut short hair.
"The old doesn't go, the new doesn't come, you look good no matter what."
Aurelia agreed.
"I also think I'm naturally beautiful. By the way, you have been holding your hands behind your back since you returned to the hotel. What are you hiding?"
Selsey asked curiously.
"A gift for you."
Aurelia handed the box behind her to Selsey.
"What is it? It's so mysterious."
Selsey murmured, and the moment the box was opened, her eyes also lit up.
Inside was a new lyre. Selsi knew what was good and could tell at a glance that it was expensive. The body of the lyre was made of phoenix wood, which is the tree where the phoenix, the king of birds, lives. The body of the lyre with the scent of the phoenix would make the music played more pleasant and mellow; the strings were made of dragon tendons, which made the sound of plucking more crisp and tougher and less likely to break.
Selsi liked the lyre very much and kept stroking
and plucking it. Suddenly, Selsi stopped playing and hugged Aurelia. Aurelia took a few steps back and fell on the bed, but still hugged Selsi steadily.
Her red lips pressed against her red lips, and her breath gradually became rapid. In a trance, she heard panting, "I... like it very much."
The two of them were devoted to each other, and it was impossible to tell who said it. The ambiguity made the temperature gradually rise.
Aurelia had never felt so warm all over her body. She had always been inferior in her heart. She was so good and warm like the sun, and she was just a freak in the gutter, but now the sun was hugging her.
The cold knock on the window broke the silver thread. The two looked at the window at the same time. A bird tilted its head and stood by the window, curiously watching the two two-legged beasts pecking at each other.
Aurelia was dissatisfied that such a good atmosphere was interrupted, and Selsi walked to the bed and took the letter from the bird's feet. It was the Duke's reply.
Selsi turned around and saw her girlfriend who was so aggrieved that she wanted to stew the bird. She smiled helplessly and comforted the irritable silver wolf with a kiss.
"There are more important things now."
Selsi handed the letter to Aurelia to read together. The Duke expressed his dissatisfaction, but still sent a new invitation. He just urged them to hurry up at the end of the letter.
No matter how dissatisfied Aurelia was, there was no such atmosphere now, so she should hurry up and do her business.
She and Selsi calculated the money they had earned during this period, "This money is enough for us to buy a boat ticket." Selsi said.
They are going to cross the sea to Orinde.
